FAQs
What does a project coordinator do?
A project coordinator runs the entire schedule of the event or project. They are responsible for putting together the timing in which each element of the project or event is completed. Project coordinators know when demo starts, who can pick up your garbage, where it goes, how much can be donated (we love to donate anything we can!!), and how to put it all back together in the right order! Project Coordination involves every element from demolition crews and framers to plumbers and electricians. They ensure the schedule is kept or modified appropriately based on trade availability and troubleshoot any items that go off track or fall through the cracks. We work with trades and designers to help your vision come to life as efficiently and beautifully as possible. We are the fixer and problem solver for your project, because nothing is more important to us than happy clients and beautiful spaces!
What is a design coordinator?
A design coordinator is a helping hand in making sure you tick all your design boxes and that the project is cohesive. The design coordinator will ensure that no detail is missed in planning your space or your event and can work as your right hand, be available when you can’t be or take the design stress off your plate and meet with your designers so you don’t have to! Design Coordinators often meet with the event or projects different design departments like your kitchen designer and your flooring supplier, to ensure the whole space is picture perfect. Hiring a Design Coordinator is perfect for you if you’d prefer not to hire a designer but would love a hand in the process!
Isn’t that just a designer?
Nope! We like to say that Design Coordination is client lead. So many people have a great eye and just don’t know where to start, or which materials to use in certain spaces or how to make their vision come to life. Maybe they work full time and can’t make all the meetings or simply don’t have the time to make sure they hit all the elements, but really want to make the major choices and be the lead on those selections. A Design Coordinator is more like your own personal design assistant. Just there to make your life easier and willing to help as little or as much as you’d like! We also work closely with designers in the absence of clients during extended vacations, heavy work schedules or just life. We have your back and help keep the budget and design on track.
What is the difference between a design coordinator and a project coordinator?
A Design Coordinator will help put together the elements of the design finishes on your project. A Project Coordinator will oversee the entire project, from demo to completion and work with you to ensure you’re happy with the progress and trades on the project. Hiring an independent Project Coordinator ensures the client always has someone in their corner that isn’t angling for the upsell.
DO you offer combination services?
We sure do. Our founder is well versed in both roles of Design and Project Coordination and can easily be your representative on site and oversee all the moving parts of your project or event from start to finish ensuring your vision comes to life both efficiently and beautifully.
how much does this cost?
Our services are billed on an hourly flat fee basis. Whether you’re running a 2 million dollar restoration, a $20 000 kitchen renovation, our fees stay the same. We don’t work on a percentage basis and don’t have incentives from retailers or trades which means we are always on your side and have your budget and best interests in mind. Consider us your project P.A’s.
